Every student when enters in high school, he/she starts thinking about career.They set their aims and start work for achieving their aim's.Some wants to be a C.A.,some wants to be a doctor,some wants to be a sportsperson and many wants to be an engineer.An engineer, what a respect given to the word engineer in English language by adding a prefix an engineer.If someone wants to be a doctor has to work hard,someone wants to be a C.A. they also need to work hard and in engineering to get admission in top colleges students have to work hard.But,now a days students don't want to do engg. due to the statistical record of engg. students.Before some years maximum students get placed during campus sessions but now few students are getting placed.
Reasons:-
1.Lack of practical knowledge.
2.Students are not aware with the latest trend and technology.
3.Atmosphere in engg. colleges,7 hrs lectures,weekly lab 2only.
Solutions:-
1.Govt. can talk to colleges and companies,for better future of students and development of country in the field of technology.Suppose there is an engineering college in mumbai name XYZ. There are five branches in this college out of which IT is one.Call with one IT company in city and start their expert lectures in colleges from 2nd year.Start teaching the students about the languages and make teams in their branch and distribute them projects under 1 faculty guidance so that they will get aware about the oldest technology in 2nd year and also learn how to work in a team and how to work on a live project.And when it comes about their major project the student will definitely make some innovative project which faculties and external ask what unique you have done? that time he will stand and speak "this unique thing i have done ".
2.Theoretical knowledge have its own importance but for theoretical knowledge we can't ignore practical knowledge. Try to arrange visits in IT industries in a week. Ask them to help students about the industrial climate and how to work on live projects.So,that their skills will get improved.
3.Try to arrange presentations once in every month about the project you have distributed among them.Due to presentations hesitation of students will get removed.
4.Try to make teams of students according to their interest suppose in the strength of 90 some wants to work on java,some wants to work on php,some wants to work on .net make their teams on basis of domains they are choosing and when there is a schedule of practical class seperate them according to their domains and start giving training.It will help students in becoming more perfect in a particular domain such that he/she will be ready to answer immediately,whenever a questions is fire to him/her.
These all things can help a student to get placed during placement sessions and when maximum students will get placed,it will improve college rank and reputation as well as the potential of student will help in country's development
